Big thanks to Kent Fire & Rescue Service IEC Trainer James Lang, for running Start A Heart Training for 33 club members this week.
There are now 2 defibrillators at HCSC : one inside the club house adjacent to the entrance to the squash courts, the other outside on the wall opposite the cricket nets. Have a little look for them next time you are at the Club - the more people who know where they are and how to use them, the more likely a life will be saved.
You'll know from news coverage that even healthy sports people (like Christian Eriksen and Tom Lockyer) can experience sudden cardiac arrest. It's estimated that 1 in 300 grassroots sports club members could have a life-threatening undiagnosed heart condition.
A defibrillator and the quick response of other players saved the life of one of our squash members after a heart attack on court.
